Les Williams - Watercolour Artist

Les Williams finds inspiration in the life and buildings of the City of London, having worked there for many years. “It is impossible not to be impressed by the way buildings and areas rapidly change, providing so many opportunities to record history in the making”. Les works in pen and wash, on location, to capture the moment. He is also training at the Prince’s Drawing School, exploring perspectives of large interior spaces such as St Paul’s Cathedral and Liverpool Street Station. A member of the Drawing London Group, Chairman of the Royal Watercolour Society Friends Group and Council Member of the Lloyd’s Art Group. Les was accepted for associate membership of the Society of Graphic Fine Art in May 2008

Acclaim for Les Williams

2006 Lloyd's Art Group 'Best Newcomer' Prize

I was initially struck by the great sensitivity in Les' work and it is a joy to see that this sensitivity has not been lost as his work has evolved and continues to grow in stature.
